We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of diverse, smart, and driven data engineers distributed across multiple locations to create a cohesive, high-functioning team that thrives in a culture of trust, respect, and inclusion. You will be a critical enabler of data-driven decision making. In this role you will split your time between hands on development and managerial activities implement new technologies and tooling to enable analytics and data driven insights.



The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven data engineering design and implementation capabilities, strong business acumen, and an innate drive to deliver results.





What you do


* Build cross-functional relationships with business and technical stakeholders to understand the data, tools, and governance needed and deliver on those needs. Seek diverse perspectives to drive innovation and create buy-in across stakeholders.
* Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team as a hands-on manager
* Proactively identify and implement process improvements to drive our data platform forward with a metrics-driven, continuous improvement approach.
* Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers
* Set clear expectations for team members; solicit, synthesize, and deliver feedback
* Proactively identify and clear roadblocks for the team



What you bring


* 7+ years hands on expertise with data engineering, ETL technologies and data warehousing
* Understanding and experience with Agile software development and management
* Proven track record of leading and scaling data teams, strong execution, and delivery skills


* Strong project leadership, and a strong vision for how data engineering can proactively enable the growth of the business and needs of our customers.


* Previous required experiences include:


* Coding, architecting, and delivering complex data projects
* Deep understanding and application of modern data processing technology stacks
* Hands on expertise with AWS Cloud technologies/tools
* Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others
* Excellent people skills to partner with various key business stakeholders
* Previous people leadership or people management experience is desired.
