Salary: £21/hour

All RN's must undergo revalidation within an appropriate timeline
General Responsibilities:

1. To be responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to by all staff and also to comply with other regulations recommended by the Registering Authority.

2. To support the Home Manager in the prevention and/ or control of infections

3. To assist in the recruitment/induction and appraisal of other staff

4. To be familiar with and work in accordance to the Company Culture Manifesto

5. To be familiar with and to follow all Company policies and procedures.

6. To abide by all COSHH and Health and Safety regulations

7. To work as part of a team, attending staff meetings and complete all training as required.

8. To maintain appropriate records effectively

9. To respect residents independence, privacy and dignity

10. To foster good working relationships and to communicate effectively with all grades of staff to ensure the smooth and safe running of the Home

11. To understand the importance of confidential information and observe professional ethics in accordance with the Data Protection Act

12. To feedback to the Home Manager any concerns raised by residents, relatives or visiting authorises

13. To report any faults in equipment, maintenance or housekeeping issues to the Home Manager in a timely manner

14. To maintain appropriate records effectively.

15. Job Specific Responsibilities:

16. To stand in for the Home Manager as required and ensure the smooth and safe running of the Home

17. To monitor and lead the staff to deliver effective care to all residents

18. To liaise with medical and paramedical personnel for the well being of the residents.

19. To assist in increasing the effectiveness of care by developing the fullest potential of every member of staff in order to improve the management practices and techniques of the Home.

20. To conduct formal supervisions and appraisals of their team

21. To help ensure all staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of a homely atmosphere

22. To assist residents with their personal care and help provide health supervision and attention through direct supervision of staff.

23. To assist in the controlling of drugs/medicines, equipment and dressings. To be responsible for the administration of medicines.

24. To understand and monitor the standards of resident care, identifying ways of seeking improvements

25. To communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external health care professionals and staff of all disciplines to ensure optimum continuity and a holistic approach to resident care.

26. To understand the special needs of the individual residents and their relatives and acts as an advocate on their behalf

27. To act decisively in situations of stress and consult with staff as required

28. To ensure that an effective communication system exists within the home so that all staff members work as a team.

29. To be responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to by all staff and also to comply with other regulations recommended by the Registering Authority.
