Baby Room Lead – Nursery

We are currently recruiting an experienced and passionate Baby Room Lead to join a warm and nurturing nursery in Cambridge. This is a permanent, full-time role and an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their early years career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the baby room, ensuring high-quality care and education for children aged 0–2
• Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
• Support, mentor, and guide staff within the room
• Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children’s progress
• Complete observations, assessments, and developmental records
• Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for babies to thrive

Requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working in a baby room, ideally in a leadership or senior role
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
• Confident, caring, and organised leadership style
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
