Bookkeeper - Nottingham - Full-time Permanent - £35,000 - £38,000 

We are working with a well-established organisation to find a confident and highly capable Bookkeeper to take full ownership of the finance function. This is a standalone role where you will manage day-to-day accounts, across multiple sites, and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

It's a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, building strong working relationships across a business, and shaping the way the finance function operates.

The Role

You will be the first point of contact for all finance matters, working closely with operational managers across several sites. You will manage all transactional accounting, oversee budget control for each location, and liaise with senior leadership to provide accurate financial insights. The role is full-time office-based, however can offer flexibility on start and finish times.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and transactional finance

Monitor and control spending across multiple locations

Process and reconcile sales, purchase, and payment records

Oversee accounts payable and receivable

Perform bank reconciliations and track cash flow

Complete month-end reconciliations for debtor and creditor accounts

Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation

Build relationships with managers to understand their spending patterns and reporting needs

Liaise with external accountants for year-end processes

About You

You will be a proactive, organised, and detail-focused Bookkeeper who is comfortable working without direct finance team support. You'll enjoy being the go-to person for all accounting matters and will be confident in managing your workload to meet deadlines.

We are looking for:

Proven bookkeeping experience 

Strong knowledge of accounting processes and principles

The ability to work independently in a standalone finance position

Excellent communication skills to work effectively with managers and directors

Payroll experience would be an advantage, though not essential

Familiarity with multi-site or service-based finance is desirable but not required
