A welcoming and supportive primary school in Gerrards Cross is looking for a Pupil Wellbeing Mentor and School Mental Health Lead to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis. The role is key to promoting emotional wellbeing and resilience for pupils and staff.

You'll lead the school's provision for mental health and emotional wellbeing, offering direct support, training, and whole-school strategy. Working closely with the leadership team, staff, and families, you will foster a positive, inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mental health and wellbeing across the school

  • Support pupils and staff with emotional or behavioural needs

  • Deliver pupil sessions, parent workshops, and staff training

  • Develop inclusive strategies and wellbeing initiatives

  • Collaborate with internal and external professionals

  • Maintain the nurture room as a safe space

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with emotional needs

  • Mental health training/qualification (for children or adults)

  • Excellent communication and empathy

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively

Desirable:

  • Counselling or therapeutic qualifications

  • Experience with parent engagement or school-based work

Enhanced pay available for suitably qualified/experienced candidates.
