Site Manager / Senior Site Manager - Structural Steel
Location: Derby
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

I am working with a leading structural steel contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the Midlands and beyond. They are looking to appoint a Site Manager / Senior Site Manager with solid experience in heavy structural steelwork and steel frame projects, to be based in Derby.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in steel who can confidently manage all aspects of site delivery on complex steel structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full responsibility for site operations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of steel erection works

Manage site teams, subcontractors, and logistics with strong leadership and communication

*

Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, site protocols, and quality standards

*

Report progress, manage risk assessments and method statements

*

Coordinate with the Project Manager and other departments to meet programme deadlines

*

Conduct regular site meetings and interface with clients, consultants, and suppliers

*

Oversee and supervise lifting operations and installation sequencing

Requirements:

*

Significant experience managing structural steel projects, particularly with heavy steel and complex frames

*

Black CSCS card - essential

*

SMSTS and First Aid certification

*

Strong understanding of steel erection, health & safety regulations, and quality procedures

*

Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
