Reed Education is seeking a dynamic English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Wyre & Fylde. The role is to start immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the English curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with KS5 being an advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, with the potential to teach KS5.
  • Creating a stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and engagement.
  • Developing lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to varying levels of ability.
  • Assessing and recording students’ progress and providing feedback to foster their development.
  • Implementing classroom management strategies to maintain a focused and disciplined learning space.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being beneficial.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and able to act as a good role model for students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
