Are you passionate about supporting young people in their personal and academic development? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor and Tutor to work with two Key Stage 3 students in the Portsmouth area for between 21-25 hours per week.

As a Mentor/Tutor, you will:

Drive the young person from home and school and undertake mentoring activities in the community.
Understand the needs, interests and goals of the young person that you are mentoring, to plan engaging tasks/ activities.
Assist the young person in your care to develop their confidence.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
Record student progress and report on this weekly.
Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
Record attendance.
Be organised, dependable and creative.About you:

Hours - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (9:30am-12:30pm) and flexibility with afternoons.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
Organisational skills, patience, empathy.To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
