The Role Seven Resourcing are recruiting for a Children’s Services Social Worker to join a busy and supportive team within a well-established local authority. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker to make a meaningful impact supporting children in care and those transitioning to independence.

You will work with children and young people across a range of statutory responsibilities, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes are prioritised through high-quality social work practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring care plans are effective and regularly reviewed
  • Support young people transitioning from care to independence (leaving care pathway)
  • Undertake child protection investigations and contribute to safeguarding processes
  • Complete assessments, reports, and care planning in line with statutory requirements
  • Work closely with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to deliver positive outcomes
  • Contribute to adoption planning where required
  • Apply contextual safeguarding approaches to support vulnerable children and young people

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with active registration (Social Work England)
  • Proven experience working with children in care
  • Experience within leaving care services is highly desirable
  • Strong background in child protection and safeguarding
  • Good understanding of contextual safeguarding
  • Experience supporting children requiring adoption is advantageous
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads in a fast-paced environment
