This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in shaping the future of the business.

About the RoleAs Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for the full finance function, leading a small team and working closely with directors to drive financial performance and support strategic growth. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SME environment and enjoys being involved in both the detail and the bigger picture.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
• Manage and develop a small team of Accounts Assistants
• Own the budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes
• Prepare and produce weekly and monthly management accounts
• Post prepayments, accruals, and other journal entries
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls
• Manage VAT records and submissions
• Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Support directors with financial planning, investment analysis, and business case modelling
• Ensure compliance with statutory, banking, and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with banks, insurers, and external stakeholders
• Monitor and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools
• Oversee payroll process

What We're Looking For

• Qualified by Experience, Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
• Experience in an SME environment with a hands-on approach
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commercially aware, proactive, and adaptable
