Role Overview
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for technically analysing the functionality and suitability of design solutions, ensuring they meet specified technical and legislative requirements. This role also involves producing a range of formal documents for customer approval.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse and document the technical compliance of electrical designs with customer specifications, including safety and legislative requirements.

*

Collaborate closely with mechanical design engineers to develop fully integrated solutions.

*

Follow the design process rigorously to ensure that all mitigations and approvals are completed at the appropriate stages.

*

Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation to substantiate the design and its application to projects, including performance calculations, test plans, and material/component selection justifications.

Skills and Qualifications

*

Degree qualified, or equivalent practical experience.

*

Minimum of 3 years' experience working with control panels and/or low voltage power distribution.

*

Proven capability in power and electrical design, including system design and component selection.

*

Ideally experienced with variable speed drives, motor starter panels, distribution systems, and PLC systems. Experience in control and instrumentation is highly desirable.

*

Understanding of testing and automation processes, including the ability to write test plans.

*

Proficiency with E-Plan is desirable; experience with SolidWorks Electrical is advantageous. Familiarity with alternative CAD systems may be acceptable as training can be provided.

*

Practical, hands-on engineering experience is essential.

*

Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative to progress tasks.

*

Experience preparing high-quality design documentation for customer approval.
