Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00

Friday: 07:30 - 12:00

Quotes and Costings Estimator Summary:
As a Quotes and Costings Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for both existing and prospective customers. Working within the Sales team, your attention to detail and industry knowledge will be key in assessing product requirements, creating Bills of Materials, and ensuring competitive pricing is maintained. You will support and collaborate closely with the wider production, engineering, and purchasing teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of each quotation.

Quotes and Costings Estimator Responsibilities:

* Accurately prepare cost estimates using ERP (Epicor) and Excel-based tools

* Load assembly operations and times into the ERP system to generate quotes

* Produce offline calculations using standard Excel costing templates

* Assess new product builds for cost-effective manufacturing and identify assembly times

* Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) using existing stocked components where possible

* Liaise with suppliers for materials pricing and negotiate to secure competitive costs

* Work with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Purchasing departments to ensure feasibility and alignment

* Challenge internal teams when estimated build times do not match actual production

* Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2008 and AS9100 quality standards

* Support the company's environmental policies and procedures

Quotes and Costings Estimator Key Skills & Experience:

Essential:

* Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment

* Buying or procurement experience

* Supplier negotiation skills

* ERP system knowledge (Epicor preferred)

* Proficiency with Excel-based costing tools

Desirable:

* Background in engineering or manufacturing
