An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading, well regarded cost and project management consultancy at their offices in Birmingham. The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with Network Rail, HS2 and other rail providers, offering a variety of general contract, commercial and stakeholder management support across multiple projects within West Midlands.

Working closely with the clients in house teams, you will be tasked with providing support in managing and monitoring contractual compliance across different portfolios and agreements, protecting the clients commercial interests at each stage of the project. This will involve lots of client, customer and internal stakeholder engagement giving you exposure to a variety of people with different approaches & skill sets.

Some of your key duties will include:

Managing the cost reporting of all projects including cost forecasting, anticipated final project costs, cost of work done, gross billing and current contract value
Monitor site activities
Manage assessment and valuation of contractors applications and processing of payment certifications
Providing contract advice
Offering advice on the procurement process
Supporting junior members of the team with the development of their careers
Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have excellent communication skills and have previously worked for either a cost & project management consultancy and be familiar with the rail, infrastructure or civil engineering sectors.
