Tradewind are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in South Birmingham who are seeking a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher to join their team after Easter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive department in a school that values creativity, collaboration, and student progress.

The school has a welcoming and inclusive ethos, with strong leadership and a clear commitment to both academic achievement and student wellbeing. The English department is well-resourced, forward-thinking, and offers excellent support for staff, including ECTs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students

  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment

  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with school and national expectations

  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities

  • Work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies when needed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - ECTs are encouraged to apply

  • A genuine passion for teaching English and developing literacy

  • Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour and achievement

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind)
