We are seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a large, high-end residential development in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys maintaining high standards across a busy, resident-facing environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and overall presentation of all communal areas. This will include planned redecoration works, minor repairs, and supporting the smooth running of the estate alongside the on-site team.

Key Responsibilities

Painting & Decorating

  • Prepare surfaces (sanding, filling, priming) to a high standard

  • Carry out painting and decorating across communal areas

  • Deliver durable, high-quality finishes in high-traffic environments

  • Ensure surrounding areas are protected during works

Maintenance & Upkeep

  • Complete scheduled redecoration across hallways, stairwells, and shared spaces

  • Identify and report defects such as damage, wear, or damp

  • Keep accurate records of works carried out

Light Maintenance

  • Carry out minor repairs (e.g. replacing bulbs, adjusting door closers, fixing fittings)

  • Support general upkeep of communal areas

  • Escalate issues requiring specialist attention

Site & Contractor Support

  • Assist contractors with access and ensure safe working practices

  • Monitor works to ensure communal areas remain safe and tidy

Health & Safety

  • Follow all site safety procedures and COSHH regulations

  • Maintain clean, hazard-free working areas

  • Ensure minimal disruption to residents

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in painting and decorating

  • Ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks

  • Good understanding of health & safety practices

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in work

  • Ability to work independently

Desirable:

  • Experience in residential developments

  • Basic carpentry or repair skills

  • NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent)
