Emissions Compliance Engineer

Peterborough

12-month contract - with potential to extend

Hours: 37 Per Week: Start between 08:00-09:00, Mon-Thu: 7.5 hrs/day, Fri: 7 hrs

Up to £31.50 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution, OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £42.75

As part of the UK Emissions & Regulatory Compliance team, you won't be confined to one product line; you will influence all medium‑engine platforms and work across a broad mix of international regulations. What you will be doing:

Building expertise in worldwide emissions standards and applying them to real-world diesel engine technologies
Getting to grips with global emissions regulations and how they apply to diesel engines
Helping to guide the wider business on the requirements to stay compliant
Supporting and resolving compliance issues across multiple engine lines and global regions
Preparing and submitting conformance reports to different regulatory bodies
Working closely with teams across the UK, US, and India to keep processes aligned
Developing and improving documentation to clarify and streamline compliance steps
Breaking down technical and regulatory information so it is clear for others to follow
Playing a role in maintaining a culture of doing things properly and to a high standard
What you will bring:

Essential

Strong understanding of engines, ideally backed by an engineering degree
Experience working within engine performance or a similar technical area (minimum 3 years)
Any previous exposure to compliance or regulatory work will really stand out
Ability to understand complex technical topics and explain them clearly
Confident communicator who's comfortable engaging with different teams
Someone who takes pride in accuracy and doing things the right way
Desirable

Some familiarity with emissions legislation across global markets
Experience with tools that help streamline processes (e.g., Alteryx)
Background in off-highway, on-highway, or similar engine-related industries
