A lovely, welcoming primary school in Barking are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school for the summer term to provide 1 to 1 support.

The Role

In this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will be supporting a pupil in year 2 with Special Educational Needs. The child has Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and requires support with their behaviour as well as accessing activities in the classroom. The child can display challenging behaviour and will require you to de-escalate situations and remove the child in order to calm down situations. The school is well-resourced to support children with SEN and you will work closely with experienced staff and have access to specialist areas to support the child.

The school are looking for an SEN teaching assistant who has previous experience supporting children with SEMH

This role is offered on a contract basis from April 2024 to July 2024.
