This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced grounds maintenance professional looking to take the next step into a leadership role, ensuring high standards of environmental services across residential communities.The RoleAs a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising a team of operatives delivering grounds maintenance services across multiple housing sites. You will ensure work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales, and in line with health and safety requirements.Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives across South Manchester.
• Plan, allocate and monitor daily workloads to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Carry out regular site inspections to ensure grounds are maintained to agreed standards.
• Provide on-site support, guidance and training to team members where required.
• Complete and manage administrative tasks, including work records, inspection reports and scheduling.
• Liaise with residents, housing officers and other stakeholders regarding grounds maintenance services.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Monitor quality of work and address any issues or complaints promptly.
• Assist with hands-on grounds maintenance duties when required.
• Ensure tools, vehicles and equipment are maintained and used correctly.

Requirements

• Previous experience within grounds maintenance or environmental services.
• Experience leading or supervising a team within a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance practices (grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, seasonal work etc.).
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to carry out site inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within outdoor maintenance work.
• Full UK Driving License
