Do you specialise in supporting individuals with SEMH ( Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)?

Do you want to help support pupils in a Pupil referral unit (PRU) or alternative provision school?

Do you want a job where no two days are the same?

We are looking for motivated and passionate individuals to work in PRU / Alternative education schools to support pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. We are looking for people who are available on a full-time basis, beginning in September for the new academic year.

The Schools you could be placed in provides high quality, supportive, and inspirational teaching to 11 - 16-year-olds at Key Stage 3 and 4. They have a bespoke approach which ensures positive progression either back into mainstream education, or into the world of further education, work-based learning, or employment.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the teacher deliver informative and engaging lessons
  • Working in small groups and on a one to one basis with some pupils
  • Helping the teacher to devise innovative lesson plans
  • manage behaviour in the classroom and around the school.

The requirements for the role are:

  • A DBS on the update service
  • Experience with children or young adults in an educational setting
  • Be committed to achieving high levels of attainment for students
  • Have a good team ethic, want to support and make a difference
  • The ability to communicate with children from diverse backgrounds
  • Be comfortable working with children who may have faced struggles in School and require that extra support
  • Confidence in behaviour management skills
