Are you an experienced Workshop Manager with a strong background in fabrication and/or machining? We're working with a well-established engineering business based in Lichfield that's looking for a motivated and hands-on Fabrication/Machining Workshop Manager to lead their operations.

As the Workshop Manager, you will take charge of the day-to-day running of a busy manufacturing workshop—managing schedules, quality, stock, and team performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive company offering long-term growth and development.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Plan, implement, and oversee production schedules for each project

*

Monitor and inspect production and incoming goods to maintain quality standards

*

Maintain accurate production records and estimate job costs

*

Oversee equipment and tool maintenance, including arranging servicing and inspections

*

Manage stock levels for efficient production

*

Read and interpret technical drawings for job planning and pricing

*

Work closely with procurement, distribution, and senior management (reporting to the Contracts Manager)

*

Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards and the Business Management System

*

Uphold company Health & Safety procedures at all times

✅ Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role within a fabrication and/or machining environment

*

Strong understanding of fabrication and machining processes

*

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

*

Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a workshop setting is desirable

*

Excellent organisational and team leadership skills

*

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

*

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (experience with Sage is a bonus)
