Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Ocean Import Operator who is responsible for coordinating and executing the end-to-end ocean export process, ensuring all shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with international regulations. This role involves close communication with customers, overseas agents, and internal teams to deliver high-quality logistics solutions.

What you’ll do:

• Shipment Coordination: Plan, organize, and coordinate daily ocean import shipments from booking to delivery.
• Documentation: Prepare and verify all export documentation, including airway bills (AWB), commercial invoices, packing lists, and export declarations.
• Customs Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with export control laws, customs regulations, and security requirements.
• Carrier & Vendor Management: Book cargo space with shippers and handle rate negotiations when required.
• Customer Service: Provide proactive updates to customers regarding shipment status, delays, or exceptions.
• Operational Support: Work closely with the warehouse and ground handling agents to ensure timely cargo movement.
• Billing & Administration: Create job files, issue invoices, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipment irregularities or discrepancies.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize air export processes for efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Skills Required:

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with export documentation requirements.
• Certifications (preferred): IATA Dangerous Goods Certification
• Previous experience in a similar role
