A specialist school in Leeds, West Yorkshire is seeking an outstanding English Teacher to deliver Language and Literature to GCSE level from September 2025. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational educator with the creativity, skill, and compassion needed to support diverse learners, including those with SEMH and additional needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature up to GCSE
  • Proven experience teaching students with SEND needs (essential)
  • Be eligible to work in the UK without any SPONSORSHIP
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Ability to engage and motivate reluctant learners with innovative approaches
  • Knowledge of current GCSE specifications and assessment requirements
  • High levels of resilience, emotional intelligence, and adaptability
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that are accessible, aspirational, and engaging
  • Plan and differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs
  • Prepare students for GCSE and equivalent qualifications, providing targeted support where necessary
  • Foster a classroom environment built on trust, respect, and high expectations
  • Track and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure success
  • Work collaboratively with other subject teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies
  • Contribute to the wider school life, including enrichment and literacy initiatives
