About the SEN Teaching Assistant - Social and Emotional Support Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant focusing on social and emotional support, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with social and emotional needs
Implementing individualized support plans and interventions
Assisting students in developing coping strategies and emotional regulation skills
Supporting students in building positive relationships with peers and adults
Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers
Promoting social and emotional well-being through targeted interventions and activities
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
SEN Teaching Assistant - Social and Emotional Support Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with social and emotional needs is desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach
Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust with students
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and develop in the role
