Freelance Site Engineer / Sub Agent - Dunfermline

Location: Dunfermline
Duration: 6-7 months

Contract Scotland is working with a well established contractor to recruit a Freelance Site Engineer to support two active social housing projects in Fife. This role offers a strong mix of technical challenge, autonomy and continuity, with the primary focus being a complex development in Dunfermline.

Dunfermline Project

A complex retaining wall requiring accurate setting out and technical oversight

Civils works, foundations and concrete elements

Supporting value engineering due to incomplete design information

Helping the site team re‑establish control and drive the project forward

Fife Project 

Setting out for retaining walls, foundations, civils and concrete works

Providing engineering support where design information is incomplete

Assisting with value engineering and practical problem‑solving

Maintaining accurate site records and QA documentation

Supporting the site team across both projects as required

What We're Looking For

Experience as a Site Engineer or Sub Agent on civils projects

Confident with setting out, foundations, concrete and retaining structures

Ability to work with limited information and help drive solutions

Strong communication skills and ability to support multiple sites
