Quality Engineer

A Quality Engineer is needed for a fast-growing engineering and manufacturing business supplying into a highly regulated sector. They are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to strengthen their quality capability and support continued growth, improvements, new customer demand, and future site expansion plans. This is an exciting time to join.

This is a hands-on role with a strong presence on the shop floor, focused on improving processes, solving problems, and ensuring products meet strict regulatory and customer standards.

Role Overview

This role is focused on driving improvements across machining and manufacturing processes, supporting compliance, and resolving customer and internal quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain a strong shop floor presence, supporting machining and production processes

* Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and DMAIC

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework

* Analyse data to identify trends and improve process capability

* Apply statistical methods such as SPC, Cp/Cpk, and MSA

* Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements

* Support internal and external audits

* Improve SOPs, documentation, and the wider QMS

* Support customer issue resolution and improve overall performance

Requirements

* Experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role within manufacturing

* Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach

* Experience with statistical tools (SPC, Minitab or equivalent)

* Knowledge of ISO 13485 (preferred, but not essential)

* Background in precision engineering, machining, or regulated industries beneficial

* Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
