To foster in the UK, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be 21 years of age or over
- Have a spare, dedicated bedroom in your home
- Have experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults (professionally or personally)
- Be a British citizen or hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK
Important - Visa Status
We are unable to accept applications from individuals who hold:
- EU Settled or Pre-Settled Status
- Graduate visas
- Skilled Worker visas
- Student visas
- Health & Care Worker visas
- Spouse Visa
- Any other temporary or time-limited visa
Fostering requires permanent residency status in the UK.

Foster Wales Flintshire is looking for warm, committed individuals near Haslingden and Rossendale to provide stable, full-time care to children who are already beginning to thrive in school and the community, but need a consistent and loving home to truly flourish.
If you've worked as a nanny, childminder, au pair, or in home-based childcare, you're already familiar with the routines, patience, and emotional insight needed to foster.
About the RoleThis role involves offering a child or young person a full-time place in your home-helping them move forward from previous disruption or residential care.
These children are often already settled in school and routines, but need the emotional warmth and stability of a home environment. You'll be supported every step of the way by a dedicated fostering team to help them (and you) thrive.
We're Looking For Individuals or Couples Who:Have experience in home-based childcare or nannying
Can offer a safe, nurturing, full-time home
Have a spare bedroom
Hold a full UK driving licence
Are warm, resilient, and open to training
Ideally do not have children under 16 living at home (though each situation is reviewed individually)
What You'll ReceiveFinancial Support:
£50,000 annual support package
Weekly fostering allowance up to £258.79 (approx. £13,453 per year)
Additional annual allowances up to £1,035 for birthdays, holidays and Christmas
