Role Overview
As a Children's Support Worker, you will provide direct care and emotional support to children living within our residential settings. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of each child, helping them to achieve their potential and live fulfilling lives. This role requires empathy, patience, resilience, and a commitment to safeguarding children at all times.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day care and support for children in line with individual care plans.
*
Promote each child's physical, emotional, and social development through structured activities and daily routines.
*
Build positive, trusting relationships with children, encouraging self-esteem and independence.
*
Support children in attending education, leisure activities, and appointments.
*
Assist with life skills development, including personal care, cooking, budgeting, and household tasks where appropriate.
*
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation.
*
Work closely with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
*
Adhere to safeguarding procedures and ensure the protection of all children in your care.
*
Follow all company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
Essential Requirements
*
Experience working with children or young people in a residential, care or similar setting.
*
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and professional boundaries.
*
Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
*
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with sensitivity.
*
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as required.
Qualifications
*
NVQ/QCF in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent (or willingness to work towards this).
*
Up-to-date safeguarding and first aid training (preferred; training can be provided).
