Technical Manager - Food Manufacturing

Salary: Up to £72k DOE

Are you a passionate food industry professional with a strong background in Food Safety and Quality? We're seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical function at our Peterborough site. You'll play a key role in the site leadership team, ensuring all products meet the highest standards of safety, legality, and quality — every time.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the Technical team to deliver best-in-class Food Safety and Quality performance.

* Ensure compliance with customer standards, BRCGS, and legal requirements.

* Drive a proactive Food Safety and Quality Culture across the site.

* Act as the key customer contact for all technical and quality-related matters.

* Oversee HACCP validation and verification, quality control points, and process controls.

* Manage supplier approval, raw material management, and project technical sign-off.

* Support NPD integration, ensuring product safety and quality from concept to launch.

* Lead root cause analysis (RCA) to drive continuous improvement.

* Manage site Technical budgets and support wider site performance metrics.

About You

* Degree in Food Science or a related discipline.

* In-depth knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.

* Proven experience in food manufacturing (ideally dairy or liquid processing).

* Excellent leadership and influencing skills.

* Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.

* Able to coach and mentor teams and collaborate effectively at all levels.
