Commercial Gas Engineer

Commercial Gas EngineerSub-Division: Facilities Management Location: Crawley Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time - 40 hours, Monday to FridayPurpose of RoleWe are looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team supporting multiple national retail contracts. This is a mobile role requiring a proactive approach to planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.What You'll Be Doing

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on commercial gas systems and HVAC plant.
• Diagnose and resolve faults quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Deliver small works and ensure compliance with all safety and statutory requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Typical Tasks Include

• Boiler lockouts and resets
• Warm air unit and radiant tube heater faults
• Gas pipework leaks or isolation valve issues
• Pilot light or ignition failures
• Pressure loss or circulation problems in heating systems
• Gas interlock faults in kitchens or plant rooms
• Faulty thermostats, sensors, or actuators
• Emergency call-outs for heating/hot water failures

What We're Looking For

• Valid commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1/1A, etc.) - Essential
• Strong knowledge of heating systems, boilers, and associated plant
• Experience in retail, commercial, or multi-site maintenance environments
• Ability to work independently on both planned and reactive tasks
• Willingness to join an on-call rota (with enhanced pay)
• Full UK driving licence
