Building Surveyor Domestic & Commercial Projects

Clearfield Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join a busy and fast-paced office based in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and friendly team, working across a diverse range of domestic and commercial construction projects.

We are looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction and pricing. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing tenders, supporting project delivery, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor portals for relevant tender opportunities

Create and manage project files, including downloading and organising tender documents

Arrange and attend site surveys to support accurate tender pricing

Complete and submit tender returns

Prepare Construction Phase Plans for successful tenders

Compile risk assessments and method statements using HS-Direct software

Ensure project compliance with CDM regulations

Work collaboratively with the Contracts Manager to ensure smooth project delivery

Monitor stage payments and generate invoices

Liaise effectively with internal team members, clients, tenants, and customers

Maintain accurate project and administrative records

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience as a Building Surveyor (essential)

Broad knowledge across construction trades

Strong organisational and multitasking abilities

High attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude

Ability to work well under pressure in a busy office environment

Familiarity with HS-Direct software and CDM compliance is desirable
