Flexible 20–30 Hours per Week | Growing, Forward-Thinking Accountancy Firm

Reed Practice have been engaged by an ambitious and progressive accountancy firm seeking an experienced AAT or ACCA qualified Senior Accountant for a Client Relationship Manager role. You will  play a pivotal part in elevating their client service delivery and supporting the development of their  talented team.

This is a senior position within their client services function—sitting above Account Manager level—and is ideal for someone who loves combining strong technical expertise with leadership, coaching, and exceptional client care.

About the Role

As Client Relationship Manager, you’ll act as the key senior point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring they consistently receive outstanding service, clear communication, and technically accurate work.  You’ll guide and support Account Managers, review work before client delivery, and step in to handle more complex or sensitive matters when needed. This role is critical in maintaining quality, managing risk, and helping to shape the next generation of talent within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior contact for clients within your portfolio
• Review, approve, and quality-check work before it is issued
• Provide support with complex technical queries and problem-solving
• Manage escalations, complaints, and sensitive client situations
• Uphold high standards of accuracy, compliance, and presentation
• Mentor and develop Account Managers through guidance and feedback
• Oversee team workloads and support effective prioritisation
• Lead fee reviews and identify opportunities to improve client value and profitability

This is part-time,  hybrid role with travel to Ipswich and London offices required

• Strong technical knowledge in accounting and tax
• AAT or ACCA qualification or equivalent (minimum)
• The ability to explain complex matters clearly and practically
• Confidence and proactivity when managing client relationships
• Excellent attention to detail and rigorous work review standards
• A natural leadership style and a passion for developing others
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• Commercial awareness, including understanding of fees, scope management, and profitability
