SEND Teaching Assistant | Darwen | Summer Term (April-July) | £14.30-£16.00 per hour | Mainstream Primary School

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Darwen is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEND provision for the summer term. The role focuses on supporting pupils with additional needs in a structured, well‑resourced environment. A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.

Key responsibilities

Providing tailored support within a specialist SEND setting

Assisting with individual and small‑group interventions

Supporting pupils' emotional regulation and engagement

Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCO

Contributing to a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere

Ideal candidate profile

Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above

Experience working with SEND pupils

A calm, supportive, and flexible approach

Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
