 SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYST JOB DESCRIPTION- JOB LOCATION PASADENA, TEXAS

As the Supply Chain Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for managing the continuous improvement initiatives of our Petrochemical plant through timely, thoughtful analysis and recommendations for Supply Chain improvement. This position assists in setting short- and long-term strategies and evaluates effectiveness of current processes.

Our petrochemical firm is a newly formed joint venture.  In this role, you will collaborate across the supply chain and with 3rd party service providers to drive continuous improvement of our petrochemical plant’s supply reliability.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to:  Supply Chain Manager

Internal contacts:  Supply Chain team (Logistics Schedulers, D&OP Coordinator, Account Specialists, Rail Logistics Coordinator), Business Director

External contacts:  3rd party Sales Representative; rail, truck

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1.       Data Analysis

a)       Independently create, update, and distribute Supply Chain reports

b)      Determine type of analysis methods used and structure reports needed to communicate information

c)       Coordinate development and distribution of Supply Chain Scorecard and KPI’s

d)      Assist with freight cost data inputs for 3rd party benchmarking studies

e)      Create and maintain KPIs related to scrap shipments, expedited freight costs, delivery performance and other associated metrics

f)        Submit data to benchmarking/industry associations and interpret margin and revenue performance relative to industry peers; recommend opportunities for improvement

g)       Perform various ad hoc studies, analyses to support sales efforts, impacts of capacity expansion, and operations support

h)      Backup support to the Supply Chain team

 

2.       Logistics Support

a)       Assist with supply reliability complaint investigation, mitigation, resolution, and corrective actions

b)      Assist with facility audits and carrier safety compliance requirements

c)       Investigate alternate storage options when needed

d)      Assist in resolving freight payable discrepancies

e)      Monitor equipment availability; support Supply Chain Manager in carrier identification and contract negotiations as needed

f)        Update carrier data in SAP, including rate & routes

g)       Assist with Physical Inventory audits

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

·         Highly preferred:  Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or Business

Experience

·         Required:  3 to 5 years of related experience and continued professional development

·         Preferred:  Experience with polymers

·         Experience utilizing railcar tracking software is a plus

·         Strong commitment to safety

·         Spanish-speaking skills a plus

·         Demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance team environment
