Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Head of Operations, the Hyperbaric Program Manager is responsible for the performance and day-to-day activities of the hyperbaric chambers and staff and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality client care and service. This position, along with the hyperbaric team, will operate the chamber in a scheduled rotation, and maintain the hyperbaric chambers and support equipment, and assume responsibility for the chamber attendants and clients/patients while they are in the hyperbaric chamber. The Hyperbaric Program Manager will work closely with the Head of Operations and Clinical Nurse Manager and will provide chamber-related support on a daily basis. Essential Functions: This position bears overall responsibility for the hyperbaric activity in the center, including the management & administration, procedures and variation approval, liaison with medical staff, and direct supervision of daily activities. Responsible for hyperbaric technical staff selection, initial and continuing training, ongoing management, and professional monitoring. Interacts with all relevant external hyperbaric related entities such as regulators, accreditation organizations and the like. Liaison with chamber manufacturer and manage the maintenance program in partnership with manufacturer’s reps. Foremost authority on all hyperbaric technology and daily provision of therapy in the center. Overall responsibility for ensuring the safety and appropriateness of any equipment, medical device, or other item placed inside the chamber. Provides support and resolution for any inquiries regarding the hyperbaric chambers and support equipment from the staff of the Center or the clients. Supports any research activities involving the hyperbaric chamber. Oversees training conducted in the center for new hyperbaric teams, possibly including future staff for additional centers. Will be part of the instructing staff. Keeps abreast of developments relating to advancing models of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. May be required to attend various professional conferences in the USA and abroad. Will be encouraged to write or co-author papers, posters or presentations. All publications will be reviewed by management prior to publication. Leads the safety program; may conduct safety drills. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job role. May perform other duties/projects as assigned Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), healthcare administration, business or marketing, or related field. Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT, CHTRN). Requires local medical certification as required by the State of Florida.
· Current ACLS, Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification - to be maintained throughout the duration of employment in this position or must obtain within 90 days of employment. Experience: Direct leadership experience as well as process management experience. Experience of at least five years in a multi-place hyperbaric facility and at least two (2) years as a Program Manager or position of equivalent authority. Skilled in providing excellent customer service and support Very strong interpersonal skills and charisma to positively interact, reassure and motivate staff as well as clients and potential clients. Hyperbaric equipment and related systems operation and troubleshooting skills. Strong computer/technical/mechanical/electrical (power and signal) skills Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering data, including schematics & assembly drawings & bills of materials, vendors literature, Operations and Maintenance manuals. Required Skills & Knowledge:
· Must be able to pass a dive physical; must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. to waist level; assists in lifting clients of varying weights when needed.
· Must be able to attend to the hyperbaric chamber with clients and undergo exposure up to 3 atmospheric pressure Strong attention to detail Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment. The job requires leadership, high energy, drive, and fortitude in order to succeed. Solid organization and time-management skills. Strong customer service and follow-up skills. Ability to stay calm and relax clients. Interfaces personally and telephonically with fellow staff members, suppliers, clients, and family members. Must demonstrate efficiency in written and verbal communication. Ensures accuracy of all forms and reports. Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to demonstrate strong time management skills. Must be able to make sound judgement decisions and possess strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with NFPA-99, ASME-PVHO & UHMS Guidelines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
