Overview
Human Capital Partners are partnering with a dynamic, private equity–backed, circa £300m revenue business headquartered in London to appoint a high-calibre Group Financial Accountant.
This is a key role within a fast-growing, highly acquisitive group, offering broad exposure across Group Reporting, M&A, Tax and Treasury, and extensive senior stakeholder interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Group Statutory Reporting & Consolidation
- Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for the Group and certain subsidiaries.
- Ownership of the monthly and year-end group consolidation processes.
- Ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and IFRS 16, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Preparation of technical accounting papers and supporting documentation for the audit.
- Technical Accounting & M&A Support
- Providing technical accounting advice on acquisitions to the M&A team, including accounting for business combinations, purchase price allocations and post-acquisition integration.
- Reviewing transaction structures for accounting implications and advising on optimal treatment.
- Supporting the assessment of new and existing accounting standards and their impact on the Group.
- Cross-functional Business Partnering
- Working closely with the Group Tax team on tax disclosures and group reporting requirements.
- Collaborating with Group Treasury on financing arrangements, covenant reporting and related disclosures.
- Building strong relationships with finance teams across the Group to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information.
- Audit & Controls
- Acting as a key point of contact for the external auditors, managing deliverables and resolving queries.
- Supporting continuous improvement of financial controls, group reporting processes and systems.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects, including system enhancements and process standardisation across the Group.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Audit-trained background from a reputable practice.
- Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with at least 18 months PQE.
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS 16.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Statutory accounts preparation.
- Group consolidations and multi-entity reporting.
- Excellent technical accounting skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator able to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
- Experience in a PE-backed, acquisitive or fast-growth environment.
- Exposure to M&A, business combinations, or transaction-related reporting.
- Experience using consolidation/reporting tools and ERP systems.
