Peace Recruitment are recruiting Section Engineers to join a well-respected contractor for Scottish Water. As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various construction projects related to water infrastructure. Your expertise and attention to detail will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. We are recruiting for positions in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and supervise construction activities within your assigned section of the project, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.

2. Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.

3. Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.

4. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and Scottish Water representatives, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

5. Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, resolving any engineering-related queries or challenges that may arise.

6. Monitor and control project costs, keeping track of expenditures and ensuring efficient utilization of resources.

7. Maintain accurate documentation, including project reports, progress records, and any necessary compliance documentation.

8. Implement and enforce health and safety policies, promoting a culture of safety awareness among the project team.

9. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant regulations, applying this knowledge to enhance project delivery and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

1. HNC or above in Civil Engineering or a related field.

2. Proven experience working as a Section Engineer on water infrastructure projects, ideally within the Scottish Water sector or heavy civils.

3. Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and relevant regulations.

4. Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis.

5. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

7. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mind-set.

8. Demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to promote a culture of safety within the project team.

9. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
