Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Office-Based)
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent - 4.5-Day Week with Early Finish Fridays!
Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for designing complex, special-purpose machinery? This pioneering manufacturer is expanding and looking for a skilled designer to take ownership of exciting projects in a fast-paced, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop bespoke mechanical systems and special-purpose machinery

* Produce detailed 2D & 3D CAD models and accurate technical drawings for fabrication

* Prepare clear Bills of Materials (BoMs) to support manufacturing

* Apply GD&T principles for precision tolerancing and dimensional accuracy

* Perform engineering calculations and FEA to validate and improve designs

* Support manufacturing and assembly teams from concept to final build

* Contribute to product development and R&D activities

What We're Looking For:

* Proven experience in mechanical design for special-purpose machinery or related engineering fields

* Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Catia etc)

* Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail

* Good knowledge of fabrication techniques and mechanical component selection

* Confident communicator and team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
