Are you a Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about helping young people get back on track?

We are working with a dynamic and supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Southwark, working with secondary-aged students who have been excluded from mainstream education. The schools mission is to re-engage students, rebuild confidence, and support reintegration into mainstream settings or successful transitions into further education or training.

We are looking for a resilient and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone with the confidence to support pupils with challenging behaviour, ADHD, and social/emotional barriers to learning.

The Role - Behaviour Mentor

* Work 1:1 and in small groups with students to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement

* Help students develop positive coping strategies and reintegration goals

* Act as a consistent adult and mentor for pupils, modelling calm and respectful behaviour

* De-escalate challenging situations and support crisis interventions when needed

* Collaborate with teachers, pastoral leads, and external agencies to support holistic student development

* Contribute to personalised behaviour plans and restorative approaches

What We're Looking For - Behaviour Mentor

* Experience working with young people at risk of exclusion or in alternative education

* Strong understanding of ADHD, SEMH, and behaviour management strategies

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

* Resilience, patience, and a calm, non-judgemental approach

* A background in youth work, education, social care, or mentoring is highly desirable

* Team Teach, de-escalation, or trauma-informed practice training is a bonus (training available)
