About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Design Technology Teacher (Resistant Materials and Product Design) to join a secondary school in Wakefield from September 2025. This is a full-time position, ideal for a qualified and experienced teacher who is passionate about hands-on, project-based learning and is committed to delivering an engaging and robust DT curriculum.
Set within a supportive and high-achieving school with strong technical and vocational pathways, you will work in a fully equipped workshop with access to modern tools, materials, and digital fabrication resources.

Essential Requirements - A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
- Specialisation or significant experience in Resistant Materials and Product Design
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities - Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Resistant Materials and Product Design
- Teach across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 delivery
- Foster creativity and innovation in a practical learning environment
- Ensure safe and effective use of machinery, tools, and equipment
- Promote high standards of workmanship and presentation
- Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning styles
- Prepare students for GCSE or equivalent assessments
- Mark and assess students' work in line with departmental policy
- Provide constructive and timely feedback
- Contribute to extracurricular clubs or design competitions
- Attend departmental and whole-school meetings
