As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering safe, quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care.
  • Supporting, coordinating and actively assisting in the management and organisation of care within the operating department.
  • Providing quality planned care for patients by ensuring all team members deliver quality patient care.
  • Leading in the delivery of patient care, during a list or specified period of time.
  • Ensuring that patient safety checks are carried out in accordance with the policy.
  • Contributing to quality improvement and promoting best evidence-based practice.
  • Developing and enhancing the skills and knowledge of others and self.
  • Applying legislation, policies and procedures correctly.

The ideal Senior Theatre Practitioner will have:

  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to functional specialty i.e. Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification.
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
  • Approved / recognised anaesthetic course.
  • ILS and Orthopaedic skill.
  • Mentorship qualification and ILM3.
  • Previous experience working within an acute healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience managing and leading a clinical team.
