An innovative secondary school in Leeds seeks a motivated Design & Technology Teacher, specialising in Textiles and Resistant Materials, to join a vibrant and creative DT department for September 2025. The school is passionate about encouraging creativity alongside practical skills, preparing students for real-world applications and further education.

Job Role:
You will be teaching KS3 and KS4 students a rich DT curriculum including textile design, product design, and materials technology. You will also contribute to extracurricular opportunities such as design competitions and maker fairs.

Main Duties:

Deliver engaging lessons that balance design theory with practical work

Support students in developing their CAD and handcraft skills

Manage the DT workshops safely and maintain resources

Lead or assist with after-school clubs and community projects

Participate in curriculum planning and assessment moderation

Candidate Requirements:

Degree or equivalent in DT, Textiles, or a related field

QTS and evidence of effective classroom practice

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in workshop settings
