Maintenance Engineer (Fitter) - Dudley - Full Time Shift Work - £37,500 (Increasing After Probation)
As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be entrusted with the pivotal role of safeguarding the secure and optimal functioning of my client's manufacturing facility and its administrative spaces. This dynamic position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including the installation of new equipment, the meticulous upkeep of existing machinery, and the seamless execution of associated administrative tasks. Your dedication will involve shift work either during mornings or afternoons, Monday through Friday, with the added opportunity for overtime. After successfully completing the probationary period, a salary increase is envisaged. Experience within a plant setting and familiarity with the manufacturing environment will be highly valued in this role.

Nestled in Dudley, West Midlands, the UK-based manufacturing hub caters to customers spanning the UK, Ireland, France, and Germany. Furthermore, our operations are reinforced by three additional European production facilities, extending support to customers across Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

Duties Include:

Perform scheduled PPM and TPM maintenance adhering to manufacturer's guidelines, ensuring safe and timely execution.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work area before handing it over to production.
Implement safe machine isolation procedures.
Source required parts in accordance with company parts ordering policy.
Coordinate external contractors for site maintenance, verifying required documentation.
Respond promptly to repair requests to minimize production downtime.
Demonstrate flexibility in extending working hours to minimize production disruptions.
Ensure equipment is returned to production in a safe and functional state.
Identify and communicate areas for improvement in machinery reliability and performance.
Collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal departments to optimize equipment.
Contribute to daily 5s housekeeping and maintain designated maintenance areas.
Responsible for timely ordering, labeling, and safe storage of spare parts.
Collaborate with the team to conduct stock inventory counts.
Attend relevant training courses to enhance Maintenance Engineer capabilities.   
Personal Training Specification:

Proficient in Electrical Installation 18th edition.
Familiarity with Electrical installation theory and practice parts 1 and 2.
Ability to read and interpret Electrical Drawings.
Experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with press-type machinery.
Skilled in PC usage and maintenance management software.
Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with PLC systems (preferred).
Diagnostic expertise for electrical and mechanical issues.
Welding experience desired (training provided if necessary).
Counterbalance Fork Truck License (training available, not mandatory).
Full Clean Driving License (mandatory).
Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
Exhibits professionalism and proactive initiative.
Effective planning and commitment to task completion.
Cherry Picker trained (preferred, not required).
Working at Heights trained (training provided).

Demonstrate pleasant and courteous communication with suppliers and colleagues.
Ensure prompt and accurate handling of written and verbal communications.
Respond to telephone calls quickly, recording key points when a team member is unavailable.
Maintain timely liaisons with suppliers and team members, providing regular updates.
Express information clearly to ensure a shared understanding of breakdown situations.
