Role Overview

Job Title: Calibration Engineer

Job Code: Calibration Engineer – Telford

Location: Telford, Shropshire, United Kingdom

Work Type: Onsite (with occasional customer site travel <25%)

This role is based at the Service Centre in Telford, supporting calibration, validation, and repair of dimensional test instruments and mechanical torque tools to ensure functionality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, validation, and repair of mechanical/dimensional and analytical test instruments.
  • Carry out routine technical tasks using prescribed procedures and sound technical judgment.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical calibration and testing issues.
  • Understand and respond to customer requirements through written and face-to-face communication.
  • Travel to customer sites (less than 25%) to conduct onsite calibration activities.
Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • Proven experience in mechanical calibration, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience working in laboratory or manufacturing environments preferred.
Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with calibration tools, equipment, and related software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and measurement principles.
Core Competencies

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in technical work.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Physical capability to lift/move equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in varied environments.
Education

  • Relevant technical education or equivalent practical experience in calibration, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
