In your role as a Flood Risk Analyst you will act in a technical support role within a project team. You will be involved in the technical execution of flood risk assessments, strategic flood risk assessments, coastal flood risk and erosion assessments, GIS analysis of environmental issues, hydraulic modelling and inputs to other environmental assessment projects.
You will be required to work closely within a team drawn from a wide range of specialisms on multi-disciplinary projects.
This role can be based from offices in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

In addition to the general responsibilities associated with being a Flood Risk Analyst, specific responsibilities will be allocated appropriate to your areas of previous expertise. However, you are required to be flexible in the work you carry out and the company may change your initial duties in line with business needs. You may be assigned to work outside the area of your normal duties.
You will undertake technical analysis and report writing, supported by thorough task and time management. Through your role we anticipate that you will develop your core skills in engineering, GIS, hydrological and hydraulic modelling such that you will increasingly be able to self-manage your own work.
Key Responsibilities
Self-Management:
- Completion of allocated tasks to time and required quality.
- Understanding the technical background to the task in hand.
- Increasing ability to self-manage and balance your role on a number of project teams.
Technical:
- Analysis and execution of tasks allocated.
- Completion of technical records and calculation sheets, and all other EQMS activities required by that project.
- Preparation of technical reports, maps and supporting documents.
Health and Safety:
- Familiarise yourself with risk assessments/method statements which are in place for project tasks and work according to the provisions contained within them.
- Follow the required lone working reporting procedures established for any project you work on.
- Ensure that you are issued with the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as identified through risk assessment.
- Ensure that any accidents or near misses are reported promptly.
Other Areas:
- Take an active role in identifying appropriate training courses to aid your professional development.
- Undertake to keep up to date on developments in the marketplace as a whole and in technology and working practices.
- Attend conferences and similar events as deemed appropriate.
- Act as an ambassador for the company.
- Support marketing and business development activities in accordance with your skills and experience.
