The HP Personal Systems group is looking for an executive to drive our Artificial Intelligence and Data Science story for Personal Systems and beyond. This role will report into the VP, Software for the Personal Systems group and will play a key role in HP's digital experience transformation as a member of the Personal Systems Software Engineering leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop the strategy and implementation for the data-based artificial intelligence (AI) "Engine" that will power HP's Digital Experiences through our service and solution offerings over the next decade and beyond
  • Define aspirational goals for the data-based AI "Engine" and articulate the value to HP's customers, partners, and company
  • Attract, develop, and retain a highly skilled, diverse technical team


Skills and Experience Required:

Technical Skills
  • Computer Science, Math, and/or Software Engineering background
  • Working knowledge of hardware technology
  • Technical and strategic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and related technologies, including but not limited it: Machine Reasoning (MR), Deep Learning (DL), and Internet of Things (IoT)


Executive Skills
  • Executive maturity:
    • Consistently demonstrates sound action, behavior and judgment
    • Effectively manages emotions and relationships during periods of ambiguity, pressure and uncertainty
    • Ability to represent multiple points-of-view without bias to reach the best conclusions

    • Ability to quickly cultivate and activate an internal network across HP's various business groups
    • Ability to build appropriate external relationships that are additive and beneficial to the long-term strategy

    • Ability to articulate an aggressive vision, then break that down into prioritized scenarios [articulating value to customers, potential partnership opportunities, and benefits to HP] and then into engineering milestones and deliverables
    • Ability to define technical goals and aspirational plans from executive to engineering levels
  • Matrix management:
    • Ability to work across organizations and with executives in a highly effective fashion
    • Ability to influence and rally various stakeholders to build a solution for HP, not just Personal Systems
  • Business Acumen
    • A deep understanding of today's Data Science/AI ever-changing, fast-paced landscape, especially in highly relevant (to HP) industries.
    • An understanding of tech-to-business value conversion and articulation
    • An ability to identify new business opportunities in partnership with Product Management
