Assistant Support Worker - Job Type: Full-time (part time working options available)

This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of others and assisting in the smooth delivery of each adult’s care plan.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Support learners in developing life skills such as cooking and cleaning.
- Prepare teaching and learning rooms/kitchens before and after lunchtimes.
- Provide personal care, including feeding and promoting independence in maintaining personal hygiene.
- Participate in off-site activities with learners, such as visiting cafes or shopping.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of learning resources.
- Maintain organisation of centre-wide stationery and resources.
- Build positive relationships with learners, support workers, and parents.
- Engage in both practical and theoretical training to progress personal development.
- Enhance knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and associated disabilities.
- Perform additional tasks as reasonably required and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Passion for and interest in learning disabilities.
- Comfortable working with adults who exhibit challenging behaviours.
- Willingness to support others with personal care as needed.
- Understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults and young people.
- Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Experience with adults or children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is desirable but not essential.

- Ability to achieve results through effective gathering and analysis of information.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building relationships and adjusting behaviour to meet others' needs.
