Position Title: Trades Helper Reference: London -RA1 Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week Closing Date: 8th October 2020 Salary: £31,624 per annum Duties As a Trades Helper, you will perform semi-skilled work, assisting skilled workers in the performance of duties related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, carpentry, minor construction and building trades work.
Duties involve routine and semi-skilled work performed under close supervision.
Additional duties include participating in repair work with skilled tradespeople at functional and residential properties that are government owned and/or leased.
Reports needs for preventative and remedial maintenance to the supervisor.
Records time required for work performed, and orders and reports materials used.
Drives the HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class II truck in support of the facilities section and post activities.
Requirements EXPERIENCE: Experience in either building maintenance work or as a Trades Helper is required.
Education Requirements: National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) Level 1 in any facility maintenance trade or an equivalent academic qualification is required.
Language: Good working knowledge of English is required.
