Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Planning Manager on an Initial 6 month contract based in Scotland.

Role Summary

To lead and manage the project planning function on complex and high-voltage T&D infrastructure projects (132kV-400kV), ensuring robust planning, monitoring, reporting, and control is in place to support safe, on-time, and within-budget delivery.

 Programme Management:

* Develop and manage fully integrated design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover programmes using Primavera P6.

* Ensure alignment with NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements and Work Information.

* Maintain baselines and assess the impact of Early Warnings, CEs, and scope change.

 Reporting & Analysis:

* Provide detailed progress reports, lookaheads, S-curves, earned value metrics, critical path and float analysis.

* Support the project team with real-time data and dashboards to drive decision-making.

* Identify risks, mitigation strategies, and opportunities through time-risk analysis.

 Stakeholder Coordination:

* Interface with clients (e.g., National Grid, SSE) , design partners, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on schedule expectations and deliverables.

* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial, and site teams to ensure accurate programmed inputs.
