Sanctuary Personnel are currently recruiting for experienced Children's Social Workers to join a progressive Children's Services team in Torquay, Devon. Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Intervention Team

• Complete high-quality assessments for children and families at the front door of Children's Services.

• Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns, crisis situations, and emerging needs.

• Develop and implement child-focused plans to ensure safety, stability, and positive outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies to deliver timely interventions.

Court (Care Proceedings) Team

• Manage complex public law cases involving care proceedings.

• Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and statements for court.

• Work closely with legal teams and partner agencies to support permanency planning.

• Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of children throughout the legal process.

Requirements

To be considered for this Children's Social Worker job, you must:

• Be a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience working in direct employment with an English local authority Children's Services team.

• Have strong experience in safeguarding, assessments, and statutory social work practice.

• Be available to attend the office weekly as part of a hybrid working model.

DfE Agency Compliance Requirements

Candidates must not have left a permanent Children's Services role in the South West within the past 6 months.
