About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join my client's growing engineering team. If you have a strong background in electrical and systems design, a passion for precision, and a desire to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the design and development of advanced electrical systems and infrastructure, supporting both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical and systems design concepts from first principles
  • Produce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings to ISO standards
  • Generate STEP files for client and customer use
  • Refine mechanical designs into detailed drawing outputs
  • Create Visio diagrams to support wider company needs
  • Collaborate on the selection and implementation of CAD software tools
  • Ensure compliance with EU directives and relevant safety standards
  • Apply knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition), BS8888:2017, EMC, and LVD standards
  • Design and document electrical enclosures (control panels, 19” racks)
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum qualification: HND/HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical/systems design (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance within the EU regulatory framework
  • Familiarity with BS7671 wiring regulations and the Electricity at Work Act
  • Proficient in BS8888:2017 drawing standards
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD); knowledge of electrical CAD software such as SEE Electrical or ETAP is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
